Bio
Rosangela de Araujo is a Brazilian multimedia artist and poet based in Berlin.
She holds a BA in Visual Communication from Escola de Belas Artes (UFRJ), Rio de Janeiro, under Rui de Oliveira, with whom she worked for over six years before opening her own studio. A full scholarship allowed her studies for an MFA in Experimental Animation at CalArts, Los Angeles, under Jules Engel.
Rosangela has taught experimental animation focusing on authentic artistic expression at Academy of Media Arts Cologne, 2022, Filmuni Babelsberg, 1998-2020, amongst others. She has written for children’s theatre and TV series and has an all-round experience in the animation industry. She is a member of German authors’ society VG WORT and SBAT, the Brazilian Theatre Authors Society.
From 2013 on de Araujo has focused on her multi media art and performances of her poetry.
